[REVIEW AND SWATCHES] Maybelline Color Sensational The Powder Mattes Lipstick

After my last review and swatches on Maybelline Color Sensational Loaded Bolds, I'm certainly falling in love with Maybelline ranges of lipsticks. Including the one that I'm going to review and swatch in this post, The Powder Mattes by Color Sensational. Its the first ultra-lightweight and matte lip collection from Maybelline New York, as the innovation for heavy matte lipstick so now we can say #BYEHEAVYMATTE :D
Maybelline Color Sensational The Powder Mattes Lipstick comes in 20 pretty colours ranges from luscious nudes to plum color perfection. Unfortunately I didn't get the best selling color shade 'Touch of Nude' cause its currently out of stock, so here are the 19 swatches!
One of my personal favorite is shade 'mauve it up'. In the first swatch, it has a pretty soft pink colour. The formula is really lightweight with powdery matte finish. It appears a bit sheer on my lip in the first layer, but the colour can be built up to a certain density as desired. So thats okay to apply more than 5 layers, 10 layers, 20 layers and more. Do note that it can flake easily if the lips aren't moisturized well. When I tried to apply until 20 layers, the colour and pigmentation seems getting better. It has a nice smooth matte finish, yet surprisingly it still feels lightweight on the lip. Compared to the other brand, when I applied up to 20 layers, my lip feels really heavy, smudge, drying, and somehow it cracked.
For the staying power, Maybelline The Powder Mattes Lipstick lasts for about 3-4 hours on me without eating or drinking. It started to fade from the center first, and thats okay to retouch it as desired and you're good to go.

Almond Pink
Pretty nude-pinkish shade, one of the shade that everyone will love. Its perfect for casual and daily look.

Nude-brown shade with a hint of orange, could be one of the essential to achieve a natural look.
Raw Cocoa
Dark brown shade that will totally suit to those who has darker skin tones
Walnut
The boldest brown shades of all, it would be perfect to achieve an editorial look.
Honey Cherry
A red shade that will elevate your look for being sexy and fresh at the same time.
Rosewood Red
One of the bold red lipstick that everyone must have! Also the kind of the shade to achieve a pretty vampire-ish look.
Maybelline The Powder Mattes Lipstick is definitely a perfect choice for those of you who look for a smooth matte lipstick that is not drying or heavy on the lip, and of course with an affordable price too. You can easily get these at Lazada, Maybelline counter at Matahari Department Store, drugstores, and the other conventional cosmetic stores.

ReplyDeleteI've tried so many "long wearing" lipsticks that are total disappointments, but this is pretty astounding in it's longevity and coverage. MANY times better than the most expensive brands of long-wearing lipstick, including MAC, Urban Decay, NARS, Laura Mercier, etc.. It IS drying though, which is the nature of matte, long lasting lipstick, so I put lipbalm on top of it, and it's perfect
